Blizzard sucht neue Mitarbeiter für ein unangekündigtes First-Person-Projekt

Im Verlauf der vergangenen Tage haben die Mitarbeiter von Blizzard Entertainment die auf ihrer offiziellen Internetseite vorhandenen Stellenausschreibungen wieder einmal aktualisiert und unter dem Abschnitt “Unannounced Games/Projects” zwei verschiedene offene Arbeitsplätze als “Lead Software Engineer” hinzufügt.

Im Verlauf der vergangenen Tage haben die Mitarbeiter von Blizzard Entertainment die auf ihrer offiziellen Internetseite vorhandenen Stellenausschreibungen wieder einmal aktualisiert und unter dem Abschnitt “Unannounced Games/Projects” zwei verschiedene offene Arbeitsplätze als “Lead Software Engineer” hinzufügt. Diese Personen werden dann scheinbar für die Entwicklung eines aktuell leider noch immer geheimen neuen Projekt benötigt, welches den Informationen aus diesen Stellengesuchen zufolge eine First-Person-Perspektive mit einer robusten Enginge für diese Sichtweise verwendet. Zusätzlich dazu sollen diese neuen Mitarbeiter mit plattformübergreifenden Spielen, der Entwicklung von AAA-Titeln und auf Action basierenden Spielmechaniken vertraut sein. Während einige Spieler aufgrund der Beschreibungen in den Stellenausschreibungen und dem Abschnitt “Unannounced Games/Projects” nun auf ein Spin-Off eines bereits vorhandenen Titels (Diablo) hoffen oder von einem komplett neuen Spiel mit einer First-Person-Perspektive ausgehen, so drehen die meisten bisher in der Community aufgekommenen Gerüchte und Theorien zu diesem Thema sich allerdings um neuen Content für Overwatch. Schließlich treffen die weiter oben erwähnten Punkte alle auf Blizzards Hero Shooter zu, weshalb diese Spekulationen bei genaueren Überlegungen sogar einigermaßen erscheinen. Sollten diese Überlegungen korrekt sein, dann könnte es sich bei diesem unangekündigten Projekt möglicherweise um ein neues Feature für die aktuelle Spielversion, eine richtige Erweiterung mit vielen Neuerungen, eine Kampagne zum Erzählen der Geschichte oder vielleicht sogar um Overwatch 2 handeln.   Lead Software Engineer, Engine Unannounced Games/Projects Blizzard Entertainment is seeking an experienced engine engineer to work on a robust first-person engine for an unannounced project. The ideal applicant has demonstrated ability to lead a team of engineers to success, has a vision for how tools should be built, and has an unwavering passion for developing content creation tools. You must be an excellent engineer, collaborating closely with the technical director, and other engineering leads to build and extend a technically excellent content creation toolset and pipeline that integrates well with the game engine. You must enjoy collaborating with all disciplines, understand the vision of the game and identify the technology needed to unleash the team’s creativity and productivity.
